p90x, fitness trainer, what type of program to choose?

I actually eat healthy, wasn’t exercising for a months but I have slowly started to implement doing 10-15 minutes of exercise 3-4 a week… I have been thinking of losing my abdominal fat, and improve my overall fitness so I can feel and look healthy. If you were to see me with clothes you would think I were skinny, and I pretty much am except for all the belly fat. I’ve heard about p90x and liked what I’ve heard, but am wondering if I should just get a few sessions with a personal trainer.. I haven’t got a program like p90x because I’m not sure as to whether or not I will get its full benefits if I go at a slow pace.. so my other question is if I do purchase the p90x can I go at a slower pace and still receive its benefits??

You can receive benefits if you go at a slower pace, but you are going to have to completely rework the program. It is specifically designed to be used every day for about 60 minutes each day. if you are not following the program, you are going to have to pick and choose which DVDs you watch and it may not make a good workout program.

To me, it sounds like maybe you want a different program. Yes, P90X works and is a great program (I am in my second round) but there are options if you want a less intense program.

You need to ask yourself a few questions.
Would you prefer to workout at home or the gym?
How much do you want to spend on a trainer / gym membership / home program?
Which can you commit best to: a trainer, gym workouts, or home program?
How many times per week and how much time do you have for workouts?

These are just a few things to think about. Once you get very clear on what you want in a program you will know which direction to take.

P90X is a great program, but may not fit what you are looking for. I would probably suggest you look at Power 90 or 10-minute trainer. (I will put the links below) Power 90 is like P90X lite. It was the precursor to P90X. It is still a great program, but the workouts are much shorter and it’s not an every day commitment. 10-minute trainer has great workouts that you can choose to do as many times per week as you want. Once a day, twice a day, 4 times per week or more.

If you purchase these products through Beachbody you get assigned a coach (for free) who will help you with the workouts, the nutrition plan and support you through your program. You also get access to the Team Beachbody website which has a lot of tools, resources and info on workouts and nutrition. The nutrition part is key when you are talking about abs.
